Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information The Doing Coach collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written to meet UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Last updated: September 2026
Who is responsible for your data
The Doing Coach is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any question about this notice, or want to exercise any of the rights below, email hello@thedoingcoach.co.uk.
What we collect and why
When you use the enquiry form
We collect your name, email address, optional phone number, your preferred meeting format, what you would like help with, and optionally how you heard about us. We use this only to reply to your enquiry and arrange a free assessment. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box and sending the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
When you become a client
If you go on to work with The Doing Coach we keep session notes, contact details and payment records. The lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you, and for financial records our legal obligation to keep them.
When you visit the site
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a third party, so no data about your visit is sent to a font provider. Our hosting provider, Netlify, records standard server logs including IP addresses for security and to keep the site running. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Netlify — website hosting and enquiry form delivery.
- Google Workspace — email.
We may share information where the law requires it, or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for 7 years after our last session, in line with professional record keeping and HMRC requirements, and then securely destroyed.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred to another provider. To do any of these, email hello@thedoingcoach.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are delivered to a Google Workspace mailbox protected by a strong password and two factor authentication. Client notes are stored securely and are accessible only to Michael.
