Accessibility
Last updated 1 November 2026
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Coaching is about finding a way in that fits you, and the website should do the same.
What is built in
- Calm mode. The Calm button in the header stops the video and all movement and softens the page. It remembers your choice, and it switches itself on if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Keyboard. Everything works with a keyboard, focus is always visible, and a Skip to content link is the first thing you reach.
- Reading. Text meets the contrast minimums, zooms to 200% without breaking the layout, and is written in plain English.
- Screen readers. Headings, landmarks, form labels and image descriptions are all in place, and the fit quiz announces each question as it changes.
- Data. If your phone has data saving switched on, the background video does not load.
How it was checked
Every page was tested with the axe accessibility checker on desktop and phone widths, in normal and calm mode, with no issues found. Keyboard focus order and the zoom behaviour were checked as well.
Known limitations
- The logo. Michael's logo is his own artwork and its navy lettering on green is lower in contrast than the guidelines ask for text. The name is always written out in full beside it, so nothing depends on reading the artwork.
- The game. Paddle Upstream needs quick, precise movement. It is a bit of fun and nothing on the site depends on it. All of the information it carries is on the main page.
